1. Is the CARC facility open to the public for use?
The aquatic and fitness facility is open to the public for use based on the purchase of a membership, daily pass, flex pass, or participation in a CARC class or event. Membership fee structure can be found here. Group usage rates have been developed for swim leagues and teams in addition to special programs and events such as birthday parties, swim camps, swim and safety classes.

4. What does my membership include?
CARC Membership includes access to the pools for all ages, access to the fitness room for members ages 14 and up, discounts on selected programming, access to the CARC gymnasium during Open Gym hours and discounted day passes for guests accompanied by a member.
5. What types of programming are offered in the CARC?
Programming for the aquatics portion of the CARC includes learn-to-swim programs, aquatic fitness programs, kayak and canoe programs (in partnership with Garrett College ASI), intramural sports and open/lap swimming. The CARC is also the home practice site of the Manta Ray Swim Team. Group fitness, personal training, summer and holiday camps, and specialty fitness programming can also be found at the CARC. The CARC gymnasium regularly plays host to large events including Garrett College home athletic events, the Garrett County Health Fair, High School Graduations, concerts, trade shows, recitals and more. 6. What are operating hours of the aquatic and fitness facilities?
6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sundays.
7. How can financial support for the CARC be provided?

8. Why did Garrett College undertake the CARC project?
The Community Aquatic and Recreation Complex (CARC) further the mission of Garrett College as it provides for education and training, economic development and community enrichment for Garrett County and the surrounding region.
9. How was the CARC building project funded?
The $23-million facility received state funding for the amount of $15.5 million and Garrett County funding for the amount of $7.5 million.
10. What are the dimensions of the CARC?
The aquatics and fitness portion of the CARC is 32,500 square feet and includes two indoor swimming pools, a fitness facility and classrooms. The gymnasium portion of the CARC is 42,500 square feet and includes three college regulation size basketball courts and bleacher seating for up to 1,600 people.
