Class Descriptions:
Parent/Toddler (Ages 2 - 4)
Builds basic water safety skills for both parents and children, helping infants and young children ages 2 to 4 years become comfortable in the water so they are willing and ready to learn to swim. These basic skills include adjusting to the water environment, showing comfort while maintaining a front or back position in the water and demonstrating breath control, including blowing bubbles or voluntarily submerging under water.
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Helps participants feel comfortable in the water.
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Gives participants success with fundamental skills.
Level 3: Stroke Development (3-Beginner is for students exiting level 2 skills and entering level 3 skills, 3-Advanced is for students still practicing level 3 skills but progressing quickly towards level 4)
Builds on the skills in Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper waters.
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills.
Your time is important to us, so we’re introducing a new way for CARC Group Fitness (GF) to fit into your life and schedule! We are excited to announce that beginning in May, thanks to new technology and our new package plans, you can manage your fitness schedule by registering only for those classes which fit you and your schedule.
“Packages” of classes for members and non-members will be available for purchase at different levels including a One Class Pass, the Try it Out Package (4 classes), the Ticket to Fitness (8 classes), and the Fitness Passport (24 classes). In addition there is a special Unlimited Group Fit Pass for members only, designed to give the user unlimited access over a 3-month period. You may use the package to book several sessions of the same class, or a few sessions of many classes. You may register online, in person, or over the phone up to one-month in advance for any given class. We want to provide the best opportunity for innovative and fun workouts that meet the varied schedules of our users. Free training sessions on the new registration process will be offered at the CARC. Dates and times will be posted at the CARC and on our website, http://www.gccarc.com. We look forward to serving your health, wellness, and fitness needs!

Led by experienced fitness instructor, Susie Mark, this
course is designed to introduce students to core conditioning, a form
of exercise which promotes balanced development of the body through

clothing and bring a mat or towel to class.

hearts pumping and muscles working. This will be a fun, noncompetitive
environment for kids to learn about the importance of exercise, so that
they develop a positive attitude about exercise.

Join Sara for a basic aerobics class in the water. The
buoyancy of the water means that aqua classes provide a virtually

Strolling Towards Fitness ![]()
Strolling Towards Fitness is a total wellness program that
moms (or dads) can do with their babies. It includes power walking
and intervals of strength and body toning exercises using exercise tubing,
the stroller and the environment. Taught by certified fitness instructor,
Sara King, it is a great workout for any level of fitness. The instructor will
weave songs and activities into the routine designed to entertain and
engage baby, while moms are led through a series of exercises.
