Thank you for your interest in hosting your birthday party at the CARC! The following outlines some general information about this program. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at 301-387-3786.
WHEN: Birthday parties are permitted on Saturdays (10:00AM-8:00PM) and Sunday (10:00AM-6:00PM) at the Campus Recreation Center, and it is best to schedule at least two weeks in advance. Other days may be available by request.
TIME: Birthday parties can be scheduled for a two hour period. The two hour period is an "in the door, out the door" time period - this does not mean 2 hours for activity and then 30 minutes to clean up, because another party may be scheduled immediately following yours.
WHAT: Fees include the rental of the pool (not exclusive) and party room for a two hour period of time. You will be booked in the pool for the first hour and in a room for the last hour, but keeping in mind all activities need to stay within your two hour window. Also, parties are booked back-to-back so getting your group out of the pool at the end of your hour is very important.
COST: $150 - this includes rental of the pool (not exclusive), party room with tables, chairs, and cost for 20 participants (including parents if they plan to actively participate). The host party is encouraged to tip their lifeguard. If you plan to have more than 20 active participants, you can add persons to your party at a cost of $5 per hour for additional lifeguards. The $150 DOES NOT include any food, drinks, ice, paper products, or decorations. *Rental of the CARC mascot "Splash" is available - call for details and pricing.
AGE LIMIT: There is not an age limit, but swim diapers are required for children who are not yet toilet trained.
WAIVERS: Each participant must have a waiver signed by his/her legal guardian. It is the responsibility of the host parent to complete this. One copy will be provided to the host parent and they will be responsible for copying it and securing signatures of all parents/legal guardians of participants. Each parent that chooses to participate must also sign the CARC Waiver if they are not already a member of the facility.
SUPERVISION: It is recommended that parents keep the adult-to-child ratio at 1:5 and it is required that a male and female chaperone exist (if party is comprised of boys and girls) to assist in the locker rooms and keep horseplay to a minimum in those areas.
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENTS: To reserve a date for a party you will need to contact Kim Folk at 301-387-3786. A deposit of 50% ($65.00) is due upon booking, with payment in full to be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of your party.
CANCELLATIONS: A full refund of paid funds will be made when cancellation notice is received by CARC management at least one week prior to your reserved date. A refund of 85% will be issued when cancellation is received within 72 hours of the start of your event. If no notice is given, patrons will forfeit 100% of deposited funds.
